Mission

Hanover Place Child Care welcomes children from ages six weeks through five years. Parents can fulfill employment, education, and any other obligations because of the extended hours and services we offer. Our goal is to create a loving educational environment in which children learn about themselves and others, their feelings, and the world around them. We meet these goals using our “Creative Curriculum,” which focuses on four basic areas of development: Social/Emotional Development (sense of self, responsibility for self and others, prosocial behavior); Physical Development (gross and fine motor skills); Cognitive Development (problem solving, logical thinking); and Language Development (listening and speaking, reading and writing). Our teacher/child ratios are as follows:

Infants 1:4
Age one and stable walkers 1:5
Age two and potty trained 1:5
Late two-three and potty trained 1:7
Age four 1:10
Age five 1:15

At Hanover Place, our caring teachers serve as guides on the learning journey. Our caregivers closely observe each student in order to gain an understanding of his or her abilities, strengths, and challenges. Once each child has been assessed, the teachers provide additional assistance and guidance to help promote further exploration and learning. We firmly believe that children should have choices in a classroom, as this encourages the development of problem-solving techniques and decision-making skills. To that end, we encourage children to think for themselves, ask questions, and explore classroom activities of their own choosing. In addition, we explore monthly themes and lessons in large group activities
